Rooms to rent in Bristol
For over 900 years Bristol was one of the UK’s most important ports and a major trading centre. It is still the largest city in the region, but today Bristol’s one million inhabitants form not only the business, but the cultural hub of the South West with a vibrant arts and music scene.
Bristol’s underlying spirit of innovation and creativity has produced an extremely diverse economy which covers high-tech industry, microelectronics, manufacturing, digital and media. In addition Bristol places great emphasis on renewable technology, and as a result is the only city in the UK to be shortlisted for the European Green Capital Award.
Despite its status as a leading university city, there are three times as many professional searching for room share than students. For its many professionals, the search is generally centred on Clifton, Henleaze, Filton or areas south of the river such as Bedminster, Totterdown or Southville which have the advantage of a short walk into the centre. For Bristol’s relatively small student population student flatshares in Montpellier, Gloucester Road and Stokes Croft offer a more bohemian and cheaper alternative. While Bristol has much to offer, the city’s transport system isn’t the best and consists mostly of a limited bus network making the search for a convenient location even more pressing.
