I have a large double room available to rent in a large house in Summertown. 5 minute walk from Summertown shops where there are supermarkets, cafes, bars, restaurants, boutique shops, pubs and much more. There is a bus stop just outside the house which takes you into central town on a 10 minute ride.
The rent for the room is £650 per month with all bills inclusive, including council tax. The house is fully furnished and provides internet, sky, washing machine, parking, large 80 foot garden, shed and a bit of storage in the house.
I have attached a picture of the floor plans. The kitchen and dining room are open plan and fully furnished with a sofa and TV also. All crockery and utensils are provided. The main lounge is the front room and there is space for 5/6 people to sit. There is a 42" TV with Sky in both lounges. There is a down stairs bathroom assigned to the downstairs room tenant and our anally clean house mate Ian and an upstairs bathroom for the me (the landlady) and Caroline another house mate. The hallway houses a small room where there is a fast spin washing machine and space for blankets, ironing board etc. The garden is 80 feet and has a large 3 burner BBQ, 8 seater table and umbrella and a shed which can fit bikes etc. There is side access which leads to the driveway. The drive can hold 5/6 cars and works well with our 4 sometimes 5 cars which are in daily use.
The available room is the second largest in the house. Its the back room downstairs on the floor plan. The room has a double bed, 2 wardrobe's, chest of drawers, side table, carpeted and curtains.
I am a 28 yr old professional who will be living in the house and I am also the landlady. Please dont let this put you off as I have rented my previous house for 8 yrs and made many great friends from living with tenants and never experienced any problems. I am really easy going, like to socialise with the people I live with and keep the house tidy and like a home (not a drop in centre). I love to cook and have usually cooked meals with most tenants who have lived with me as sometimes it is easier to cook for more than one! We all share the cost of general cleaning products and things like milk, tea and sugar. We also tend to agree on a cleaning rota as it seems no matter how eager we all are when first moving in we all get lax ;) this way no one person is stuck doing the same job all the time and its fair. I am not a drill sergeant and obviously I expect the house to be lived in and comfortable.....I just dont accept filth which im sure you dont either. I also dont expect anyone to feel they cant do what they want just because I own the house, unless its something you would ask your landlord then dont feel you need to ask my permission; common courtesy is all I ask for all the housemates :) We all have friends/partners stay over for an odd weekend and socialise together and it works well.
The other tenants that live in the house are Caroline, Ian and Harry (my younger brother). Caroline is a 29 yr old professional who is an environmental Lawyer. She is really lovely, fun, loves a few beers through the week and a trip out on the weekend. She likes to get involved with cooking and we chill most nights in the lounge and catch up over a bottle of wine. Ian is a Graphic Designer and always hands on with DIY and random jobs if you have any. He also loves to clean which is a joy ;) We all get on and catch up every day and would like to find someone who is keen to socialise with us as a house, cook and bring something new to the house. I would like to think a house mate is someone you can hang out with and not someone who just sits in their room every night but also understand we all have our own things and lives to get on with. Harry is my 22 yr old brother who is quite a cool all rounder but out at his friends 90% of the time or working. We literally see him 1 night a week if not every two weeks! Then there is Milo :) He is my 1 1/2 year old dog and a joy to have in the house......we all love him, I possibly love him too much but the boys who are leaving have made sure he gets some rough attention to man him up. He is a pomeranian cross bichon frise and only very small and wont grow any bigger. He lives in the kitchen which is closed off with a baby gate (which has a door for easy access) and I clean up after him, feed him and walk him so you dont need to worry about him. At the moment the house get on really well and we enjoy a few bottles of wine, movies, lots of cooking, music, the wine bar in Summertown and nights out through the week and on weekends if we have time.
We are looking for a young professional to share the home and enjoy the living space and feel comfortable; if you tend to stay in your room a lot I dont think this house will suit you. I dont mind smokers but you have to smoke outside the house (and not out your bedroom window). Someone who likes to get involved with a few drinks, pub visits and various social things. Were like a little family so it would be nice to have someone to fit in.
If you have any questions please feel free to email me.
