SOUTH WESTERN HOUSE
The building was built in the mid 1880's and was initially a grand luxury hotel. It is renowned for being the stopover for the first class passengers of the White Star Line including those who embarked for the Titanic's fateful maiden voyage. During the Second World War the hotel was used by the Royal Navy and more recently the building housed the BBC Television Centre and the head quarters of the Cunard Line before being converted into luxury apartments at the turn of the millennium.
