Large attic bedroom available in single parent household. My daughter (18) has just left home to go to university, my son (14) lives here half the time and half at his mums. Lovely house, fully centrally heated with a 'live' fire in the front room. Nice location within Burngreave, one mile from city centre. Lots of green space nearby, lovely little back garden. Nice community, good neighbours. Friendly. TV, fast internet access. Good bus routes.
I am a teacher, a musician, and I run my own gap year company.
Rent negotiable from that stated.
Postscript: Room taken now til April 19th, available after that. Please make contact.
Having just responded to today's tranche of people looking for accommodation, a couple of things have become clear. The reason for posting this advert is fundamentally because the room is available, and it might as well be rented, so that it can become useful. I would want the lodger to add value to this household. That involves a degree of empathy. I've had several enquiries hitherto, from the German woman who thought the life-sized dalek in the back room was something to do with the central heating, to foreign workers whose English is very basic. Also, so many enquiries are from 'basic' members, and the site tells me that unless I upgrade, they won't receive my reply! I'm not desperate, but this is a lovely house, lots of people call in, it's a mile from the city centre, close to the Northern General, and would be a perfect 'home' for the right kind of person. If I can locate the right kind of person, and I'm easily pleased, rent can be negotiated, and pets can be welcome.....
