Edinburgh is well served by road and rail links to the rest of Scotland and England, while transportation within this relatively small city is primarily provided via multiple bus services which cover the city centre and all adjacent suburbs. The construction of a tram service started in 2008, but after a series of delays and cost increases, it won’t be fully operational until 2014.
