Sitting in the shadow of its much bigger and better known neighbour Birmingham, Wolverhampton is in fact itself the 12th largest city in England and has an combined urban population of over a quarter of a million people.
While Wolverhampton is widely regarded as an industrial centre, in recent years it has undergone an urban renaissance. Wolverhampton has invested a great deal of time and money in creating a new-look city; from building cutting-edge business parks to constructing modern residential accommodation to meet the needs of its growing population.
Wolverhampton is well connected to the whole of the UK, by virtue of its central location and excellent road and rail links. The city and surrounding areas are served by a bus network that runs regular routes to and from all areas into the centre, together with a light rail tram system that connects Wolverhampton with neighbouring West Bromwich and Wednesbury.
