"First-time buyers need all the help they can get. They must already raise colossal sums of cash as deposit - a huge ask without financial aid from parents. On top of this, house prices are rising, and homebuyers are having to borrow more and more to own their own property. Unless mortgage lenders can address their needs, thousands will be forced to stay in rented accommodation or with relatives. Flatmate mortgages would help give first-timers a much needed leg up onto the property ladder."
