Guardians of London is an innovative organisation that offers a ‘guardian’ scheme for empty residential and commercial buildings. The main benefit of the scheme is that it allows individuals struggling to find affordable property to take advantage of and live in properties that would otherwise remain vacant.
Having been carefully vetted, guardians are then given the opportunity to live in properties in some of London's prime locations for a fraction of the price they would normally have to pay in rent. Rooms are available from £60 per week, inclusive of utility bills, and can be licensed for periods from 1 month up to 3 years.
For the landlords of these properties, using Guardians of London’s services means that they can avoid hiring expensive security companies. Having guardians present in the building is also a strong deterrent against vandalism and invasion by squatters, as well as the need for landlords to board up their empty properties, which isn’t always popular with neighbours.
